This paper presents findings from an ongoing study investi- gating both historical and contemporary intentions behind design-build pedagogy. The framework for this research emerged from an interdisciplinary architecture, landscape and construction management seminar and consisted of three main stages – (1) a robust collection of project and program data via online sources, (2) a comprehensive survey of ACSA conference proceedings and JAE articles, and (3) a detailed email questionnaire sent to identified program leaders and faculty members. This research seeks to understand the evolution of design-build intentions through a series of iden- tified topics, while offering a quantitative summary of project scales, scopes and protagonists
